Welcome to Rigney HomeCraft's Blog

A Few Highlights...

Over the past year, we have been blessed to work on numerous projects with lots of creative people, ideas, and spaces to help make our dream of building cabinets for a living a reality.  This year, one of our goals is to invite you into our journey of making dwellings more beautiful, functional, and personal.  We'd like to start this journey by giving you the stories of our favorite three projects since Rigney HomeCraft began in late 2016.

The New Alabaster Kitchen

This was the kitchen we designed and built for our pastor's new home in mid-2017.  Kelly, his wife, had a very specific and beautiful vision for the cabinetry and we were able to help her bring that to life.  The "x" panels on the end of the island, inset doors, and upper cabinets all the way to the ceiling give this kitchen the modern farmhouse feeling it was going for.

The Mid-Century Modern Kitchen

This kitchen was a very unique opportunity in our area of the country.  Although mid-century style is coming back into vogue, most homeowners aren't quite ready to commit to an entire kitchen's worth of cabinetry that looks like it came out of Silicon Valley in the 50's.

Working with this client was really special.  As a middle-school art teacher (from my very own East Middle School), she had a phenomenally creative sense of style and wanted that personality to radiate from every corner of her new home.  We were so thankful to help her manifest that creative spirit with this set of ash cabinets.

The Heirloom Maple Desk

Mid 2017, a couple approached us desiring to have a desk built for their home office, but they weren't sure what they wanted.  They knew they wanted it to be a piece that stayed in their family for many years and they needed it to be functional for both of their careers.  As we listened to their needs and wants, this design began to come to light, something tradition and stately, yet not too dated or ornate. We really enjoyed building this as furniture quality cabinetry and were even more thrilled at the customers satisfaction with the piece.

Overall the past 18 months have been the fastest of our entire lives, but we wouldn't have it any other way.  These projects and many more have made starting Rigney HomeCraft one of the best decisions of our lives and we look forward to creating many more beautiful dwellings for our customers.  Stay tuned for more updates about what is going on in the shop in 2018!
